Review of Sancho Ortiz de las Roelas, Cándido María Trigueros’ rewriting of Lope de Vega’s La estrella de Sevilla. Mary Margaret Busk wrongly attributes Sancho Ortiz to Lope de Vega, and identifes both plays as one and the same. The review includes some long passages from the play quoted in translation and a concluding remark on Spanish despotism.
